Data Input/Output
Multiple network file formats and tabular data can be imported. Tabular data can be dynamically structured as a network. Data is not trapped in a proprietary format and can be exported in multiple file formats.
Network Structures
Networks can be represented in multiple ways from adjacency lists to full matrices. The user can convert to and from each format as needed. Multiple data attributes (integer, double, boolean, string, etc) can be assigned to nodes and edges.
Graph Algorithms
Many graph algorithms are available: clustering, metrics, connectivity, layouts, etc.
Matrix Mathematics
Network structures can be converted to full matrix format enabling the use of matrix operations (Normal, eigenvalues, symmetrization, dichotomization, and others).
Statistics
Tabular data can be manipulated in conjunction with network structures. Statistical methods (mean, standard deviation, variance, probability density, distributions, and others) can be applied to this data.
Data Manipulation
Data manipulation capabilities range from extracting or inserting network, node and edge attributes to bit-level modification of individual data items. Data can be imported, merged into networks as attributes, extracted from networks, and exported.
Network Visualization
Display multiple graph visualization windows side by side. Alter the visual representations of nodes and edges by mapping data attributes to color, size, shape, and styles. Apply complex layouts and save layouts as favorites.
Data Visualization
View data in conjunction with networks. Multiple chart formats are available, each with full display customization.
Information Logging
Each element execution in a workflow can be logged to a file, database, or the event viewer. Each parameter setting and element inputs and outputs can be logged to provide a complete trail for validation and accountability.
Requirements
Blue SpiderTM is a desktop application that runs on most Microsoft Windows systems. It requires the .Net framework 2.0 and J# runtime.
